The venerable Armored Core franchise is arguably the most popular mech-combat game home consoles have seen. Spanning from the Playstation Era into the current generation of home and portable consoles, Armored Core has had a steady release of games over the years.

On February 4, FromSoftware released Armored Core: Silent Line Portable in North America for Sony's PSP and PSPgo handheld systems.

Taking place after the events of Armored Core 3 Portable, Armored Core: Silent Line Portable will pick up where you left off if you have the save data available. The additional feature list for a portable Armored Core game is impressive. From the press release:

  • Build and customize mechs with essential and secondary parts – modify existing designs or start from scratch.
  • Over 450 mecha parts to build your own AC unit, including popular parts from past AC titles.
  • Ad Hoc multiplayer mode lets up to four players battle their hulking creations.
  • New AC opponents from the Japanese Armored Core novel.
  • A.I. training system helps new players get up to speed
  • Weapon Destruction – change tactics on-the-fly as opponents are disabled
  • Use Armored Core 3 Portable game save – upload to Silent Line Portable!
  • Customizable Control Settings

Armored Core: Silent Line is available for $14.99 and rated T for Teens for Violence. Get to it, Ravens.
