Sony Buys Media Molecule

Sony has just bought the developer behind Ps3's Little Big Planet, Media Molecule.

Perhaps Sony was worried that Media Molecule might start making games for other systems or maybe they just want to keep them to themselves. Either way, Sony has just bought Media Molecule and is now owned by Sony Computer Entertainment.

It was announced on the Euro Ps3 Blog website that Media Molecule was bought by Sony for an unknown amount of money. If they don't want to mention the price, I think it is safe to say that it was a high one.

MM made a comment on the sale: "Since Media Molecule's inception, we've had a uniquely close relationship with Sony. Over the years they have consistently shown their dedication to Creative Gaming and Media Molecule, not only through their support of the company, but their willingness to take risks and embrace our often unusual approach and ideas." said Alex Evans, co-founder of Media Molecule. "What we've achieved already with LittleBigPlanet has proved this to us and we're excited by this new chapter of innovation and creative gaming, for all involved."
